The Legality of God

God is love, God is love, God is love, but what else is he? To fully understand God’s amazing love, it is essential for us as believers to understand God’s characteristics in their entirety. Scripture shows us that he is also a God of Justice, whom holds sinners accountable for their actions. Scripture also shows us that he is a God who possesses a hatred for sin. In our culture today, people pick and choose what characteristic of God they believe instead of relying on the scriptures. Instead of acknowledging the fullness of God, this world only acknowledges that he is a God of love. However, by ignoring his justice and hatred of sin, we are ignoring the true depth and glory of his love, or one could say we are not doing his love “justice!” God did not simply forget about his justice and hatred of sin, but out his love for us, poured out his justice, wrath, and hatred for sin upon his son at Calvary, so we as the lawbreakers could receive forgiveness.
