Flexibility
Many followers of Christ lightly throw around the idea of “The Holy Spirit.” We are talking about the very essence of God here and who He is. The Holy Spirit is received at the point of salvation knowledge, or being born again. So first, we have to receive Him, His Spirit. But He will not give us His Spirit to co-exist in the old us. Upon acknowledging that our old sinful person (Associated with our Adam nature) is dead. At this point of understanding we can receive His Spirit, and then He will give us the power to become the sons of God. Seems really simple that the new wine cannot exist in the old container. In our text today we realize that the Pharisees were having a problem with Jesus new teaching and then He tells them the parable in Luke 5. Let’s check our flexibility this morning. If you are a born again believer are you flexible enough for a move of the Holy Spirit in your life? Or do you find yourself saying the “Old me is better ”.
