Learning to listen to the Holy Spirit is of utmost importance. The lack of understanding the work of the Holy Spirit in people’s lives has caused much of the failure in the Christian home and the powerlessness of the church. Without an intimate, personal, and passionate relationship with the Holy Spirit you are out of fellowship with God. So how is this relationship established? In the New Testament there are three commanded responses to the Holy Spirit. If you count in the New Testament you will find 16 positive responses to the Holy Spirit. Three are in an imperative or a command mode. In other words, in three of the sixteen God says ‘You Must Do This’. In Ephesians HE says you must be “Filled” in Galatians HE says you must “Walk” and throughout the New Testament especially in Revelations HE says you must “Listen” to the Holy Spirit. Today as conclude this series on the Holy Spirit, we will put our emphasis on the last command, learning to listen to the Holy Spirit. After all Romans 10:17 says that faith comes from hearing; hearing what? The Word of God.
